Loma Systems launches the new IQ4M and X5DE food safety inspection technologies at IFFA 2025
Loma Systems, a global leader in food and packaging inspection technologies, launched its latest advancements at IFFA 2025, the world’s premier trade fair for the meat and alternative proteins industries, taking place from 3-8 May 2025 at Messe Frankfurt, Germany. LOMA is exhibiting in Hall 12.0, Stand D40.
On day 1 of the event, LOMA unveiled its two groundbreaking inspection systems that set a new benchmark for contaminant detection, food safety and production efficiency. Making their global debut, the IQ4M Metal Detector and the X5DE advanced Dual Energy X-ray Inspection System offer significant performance, connectivity and compliance advancements.
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce the IQ4M and X5DE at IFFA 2025,” said Ralph Mbanefo, International Sales and Service Director at Loma Systems. “These technologies represent a direct response to the real pressures faced by food manufacturers – from the need to minimise costly false rejects to meeting ever-tightening compliance demands and maximising line efficiency. Developed in collaboration with our customers, the IQ4M and X5DE go beyond traditional inspection, delivering smarter, more connected solutions that help drive operational performance and protect brand integrity.”
The IQ4M is an industry first, introducing Multi-Spectrum detection alongside LOMA’s patented Variable Frequency technology, delivering unmatched detection accuracy while significantly minimising false rejects across various food products. This powerful combination enables the system to select the optimal frequency for each product and examine the signal at multiple points simultaneously, ensuring superior contaminant detection even in demanding applications.
Designed with built-in RFID user access and enhanced connectivity as standard, the IQ4M supports secure, auditable performance and seamless compliance integration. Powered by a unique detection algorithm that reduces the signal size required to trigger a contaminant alert, the system finds smaller metal contaminants. Quicker recovery ensures faster signal stabilisation between product passes, reducing unnecessary false rejects and enhancing operational efficiency.
The IQ4M also ensures faster product setup and continuous process control through automatic product learning and performance validation tools. Additionally, Loma’s new Dynamic Data Screen Plus (DDS+) facilitates real-time analysis of product signals, providing operators with enhanced insight to further optimise detection sensitivity and maintain consistent inspection performance.
Also launched at the show is the X5DE, engineered to detect low-density contaminants such as bone, rubber and glass with outstanding sensitivity. Using LOMA’s unique and innovative dual energy technology, multi-level algorithms and advanced image processing, the system helps minimise waste and improve product quality while reducing false rejects. Engineered for flexible inspection of overlapping or multilayered products, the X5DE features reject confirmation, automatic image archiving and a compact, hygienic design, all tailored to demanding production environments. Fully compatible with Industry 4.0, both the X5DE and IQ4M systems offer manufacturers outstanding Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and operational insight.
The new products were revealed to LOMA’s network of Distribution partners through an immersive product training and demonstration session. “The new IQ4M and X5DE represent a great opportunity for us to offer our customers in the Middle East region the latest inspection technologies like Multi-Spectrum Metal Detection and Dual Energy X-Ray. Adding these products to our portfolio will enable us to continue offering the best detection performance from a reliable, trusted brand like LOMA,’’ added Varsha Sapru, Chief Executive Officer at Danlesco Group (Distributor of Gulf Countries).
With 2025 marking an exciting year of innovation for Loma Systems, the company invites visitors to discover how its technology, service and support could help meet the toughest inspection challenges and regulatory demands in the food processing industry.
